50 Referees, 130 Assistants for New NPFL Season

50 Referees and about 130 assistant Referees will take part in the 2016/17 NPFL season after 250 candidates were screened for the process.

The decision for the process was prompted by a massive clear out last term following the below par performance of match officials.

According to FIFA’s Technical Adviser on Refereeing and NFF Referee’s Consultant, Linus Mba there is focus on introducing younger and teachable Referees and he’s assured that unlike in the past, the arbiters will get more matches to officiate this coming season, as a measure to build trust and experience.
