WCQ: We’ll Shock Super Eagles – Zambia Skipper

As the Super Eagles prepare for the 2018 World Cup qualifier group opener against the Chipolopolo of Zambia next month, Zambia captain, Rainford Kalaba, has boasted that the team has what it takes to beat the Eagles, Cameroon and Algeria to the sole ticket.
Like the Super Eagles, Zambia failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after coming third in Group E behind Congo, Kenya and Guinea Bissau.
The former African champion, who are yet to qualify for the World Cup since its inception in 1930, now shift attention to the Russia 2018 qualifier where they are pitted in group B alongside Algeria, Nigeria and Cameroon.
Kalaba insisted yesterday that with hard work the Chipolopolo could qualify for the Mundial saying: “We have a chance to qualify and we believe in ourselves,” he told The Post Zambia.
“Even if we failed to qualify to the Africa Cup, we don’t have to get distracted; we have to work hard on the field and stay focused and united until we reach our destiny in Russia 2018. It is my believe that we have chance to qualify despite finding themselves in a difficult group.”
