NFF Holds Seminar On FIFA Female Leadership Programme
The Nigeria Football Federation will on Thursday in Abuja hold a one-day seminar on the FIFA Female Leadership Development Programme.
The FLDP is part of FIFA’s portfolio of women’s football development programmes for the period 2015-2018.
Launched in 2015 to ensure that there are female role models and women at decision making levels in football, the FLDP aims to identify, support and develop strong female leaders in sport, while advocating for women to access senior decision making positions globally.

The 2nd Vice President of the NFF/LMC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, will be chairman of the occasion at which motivational talks will be given to women football players and other women stakeholders of the Nigeria game.
FIFA’s Head of Professional Football, James Johnson, will deliver a paper on: “The Concept of FIFA Female Leadership Development Programme,” while NFF’s Head of Women Football, Ruth David, will speak on: “Reasons for the FIFA Female Leadership Development Programme.”
David is among 36 women football administrators worldwide selected for the FLDP and attended the first module at the Home of FIFA, Zurich in June.
The module focused on making participants better leaders, the virtues of discipline and humility, importance of team work, self confidence and how to face challenges on the job.
The programme consists of three modules to last over nine months.
Prof. Funke Suleiman of the Department of Physical and Health Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria will speak on: “Education As a Tool For Enhancing the Career of Female Football Players in Nigeria,” while Chief Dilichukwu Onyedinma, a former Member of the NFF Executive Committee and currently acting Director of Sports, Federal Capital Territory, will deliver a paper on: “Education for Character Moulding Among Female Football Players in Nigeria.”
